Payback’s a Bitch

Andy definitely had it coming to him. His wife would never let him live it down. The last two weeks had been hell, ever since the party next door at the Mitchell’s and all due to his big mouth.
He regretted the statement as soon as his lips parted to form the words. He still couldn’t help himself; he believed them. And some small part of him felt neglected, sorrowful, and just a bit spiteful.
So, he fessed up. Damn those clever party games and twisted conversation starters. In one particularly personal round, he confessed. His wife Janet would never, could never, be kinky in the bedroom. Only vanilla sex was destined for their marriage. And he regretted it.
Janet was left sitting there among their friends looking like she’d just been hit by a truck. She wasn’t embarrassed; she was mortified. Andy was beginning to think the public damage he’d done was completely irreparable.
The two of them played the silent game for days. They’d always been able to talk about everything. At least Andy had always thought they could. He just might’ve pushed his timid wife over the edge this time.
Then, he found the note in his pants pocket in the middle of the workday. He recognized his wife’s handwriting but didn’t know what to make of the cryptic message:
Payback’s a bitch. And you’ll definitely see her coming.
He entered their home that evening with genuine apprehension. Silence filled the rooms. He dropped his briefcase at the sound of high heels on hardwood flooring.
Janet was squeezed into latex, walking determinedly toward him in killer boots. She flicked a riding crop at her side, her face frozen in a cold stare. Andy hadn’t seen that coming.
“On your knees, boy. Time to teach you a lesson.”
